Reversible Cable

I'm mid cable above, hence three needles. This is the longest cable I've done. It's like 12 stitches! It's enough to cramp your hand, but it looks cool. The other side does look just like that.

I got this pattern at Butterfly.

Hubby Slippers

One clog done. One to go.

I hope that you have already guessed that these are to be felted/fulled. I took the above pics with the hopes that you'd get the enormity of them. (Yes, that is my SmartWool clad foot. No, JT! I'M bringing sexyback. Come on. It's like 10 degrees out!) They are really big. The pattern is Fibertrends, I'd recommend it to everyone. Their patterns are so great and this one in particular is mind blowing. Knit all in one piece. One small seam along the center of the sole. Beautiful.

But, the real test is whether Hubby likes them. I'll keep you posted.

Guess what was on my door step?

YARN!

I ordered some Lamb's Pride Bulky in Deep Red from Carol's on Monday and it came today. YES! This is my first use of Lamb's Pride - I know, I know. It's awesome and it's about time! Carol even threw in some freebie Lamb's Pride Bulky Superwash in saphron and sapphire.

btw... I'm making something really cool out of the Mason Dixon book.

Peed & Pooped

So, I haven't been knitting the past two days. I've been driving to work and working long hours. Sadly I can't knit while I'm driving or sleeping. Instead of entertaining you with wool, I thought I'd relay a story from another part of my life. Yes, the dogs! (I know... you've been craving a dog story, haven't you?)

So we have a dog walker that comes twice a week. He's a lovely man. He and his wife own a pet sitting service. All they do all day is walk dogs and pat kitties. Sometimes I wish I could trade my T pass in for their life. I'm positive it must have it's drawbacks, mostly having to do with excretion which leads to my story.

Every Monday and Wednesday, Hubby and I return home after work to a note that goes like this (well exactly like this if this happened yesterday, which it did):

Hi,
Django & Roxie had a great time on our walk today and definitely enjoyed the nice weather. They both peed & pooped so they should be ok for a bit. As always, it was a pleasure. Have a great weekend!
Thanks,
Lovely Dog Walker Man
This was "cute" for the first couple months. I would read the note and smile, thinking of my cuties bounding through the neighborhood, smelling mailbox posts and peeing on things while I was chained to my desk. But there was a turning point. I'd skim the note saying "Yada, yada.... peed... pooped... sunshine... thanks." Then I started greeting Hubby as he came in the door with "Hey! Django and Roxie peed & pooped!!" Hubby would say, "Awesome! Good job guys!" So the note became known as the "peed & pooped" note and we started to giggle thinking about all the notes that the Lovely Dog Walker Man and his Wife have to write all day.

Yesterday when I returned home from work to find Hubby gone and the above note on the table with the following footnote scribbled in a different hand:

Hubby peed + pooped and went running.
