Django socks and yellow

Last spring I had a problem with the color green. I wanted to make everything in green. Every yarn I picked out was green. A new color has snuck up on me: yellow. It started with a yellow bag. Then I bought some yellow hemp. Then I bought some yellow cotton. I was winding yarn the other night and saw this on the dining room table:

hmm... subliminal yellow.

The hemp is Hemp for Knitting allhemp6 in Dijon. I'm making the everlasting bagstopper, shown above on left. Plastic needles, hemp = good beach knitting. Thanks Lisa!! On the right is a Wicked for me in my favorite cotton yarn Premiere. It's like butter and doesn't at all feel like other cottons. Knitting with cotton to me feel like ass. Premiere = not like ass. ;)

Django socks are done. They've been done for well over a week, but I kept forgetting to sew up one toe. So here they are:

Pretty good stuff.

Django socks

My good friend Cath sent me a ravelry message earlier this week alerting me to the existence of this. Oh that Cookie A! She got me!

When talking with my dad yesterday I was alerted to the fact that I hadn't knit in at least a week. A week dudes!

Last night I realized that my current state of mental health seriously needed some medication. One prescription for Haddy: Django socks, stash yarn and some couch time.

Today I have this:

I know it's blurry, but it's the best I can do on this dismal, dreary day photographing navy without a flash.

PS - Thank you Cath!

PPS - Hubby has started to taper for Boston. I'm not sure I have the strength.

Socks

I think after tonight's ride home I may be ready to turn the heel. Hopefully I won't have to pull my sock off on the train to try these socks on.

Two at once

Here are my two at once socks on one magic loop. I got the yarn in Ipswich, MA. While eating fried clams, there happened to be a yarn shop next door. Since I can't turn down different sock yarn, I got this skein. They are going to be truly wild socks! Posted by Picasa
