Ella Rae Silkience

I'm am loving this yarn.

It's Ella Rae Silkience.

I'm making Empire from the Ella Rae Book 8.

I've been eyeing this pattern for a long time. I cast on last Tuesday night and I'm already onto the back. I haved loved the yarn and the pattern so much that by Saturday I had ordered a whole bag of Silkience in another color to make Divine:

..and it's fall. I need them both done NOW!

The funniest thing

The funniest thing about yesterday happened when Hubby and I were reading poetry (shut up, it happened). He asked me, "Can I read you 'Reluctance'?" and I sighed while saying, "ooooo-kayyyyyy."

I guess it would be better if I reenacted it in person.

It turned out to be our favorite of the night.

Reluctance
Robert Frost

Out through the fields and the woods
And over the walls I have wended;
I have climbed the hills of view
And looked at the world, and descended;
I have come by the highway home,
And lo, it is ended.

The leaves are all dead on the ground,
Save those that the oak is keeping
To ravel them one by one
And let them go scraping and creeping
Out over the crusted snow,
When others are sleeping.

And the dead leaves lie huddled and still,
No longer blown hither and thither;
The last long aster is gone;
The flowers of the witch-hazel wither;

The heart is still aching to seek,
But the feet question 'Whither?' Ah, when to the heart of man
Was it ever less than a treason
To go with the drift of things,
To yield with a grace to reason,
And bow and accept the end
Of a love or a season?

Week in Review

Last Sunday after a weekend away, we returned home to two happy pups.
Roxie was all over Hubby.

Django was all smiles.

The current state of my knitting. Nothing's getting done.

It is good. Indeed.
