Oh, you Girl Scouts and your cookies!!

If anyone out there has developed a strategy for opening a box of Caramel DeLites
and NOT eating the entire box, please do tell.

I only bought 2 boxes, so I'll only have to suffer a little longer.

ps - It seems that this year I am playing the role of the dispeller of GS cookies myths. There were several theories about why these cookies were no longer called "Samoas" flying around my office. I had to do some schooling and let people know that both C-DeLites and Samoas are correct.
Two different bakers, my friends. Little Brownie Bakers & ABC Bakers.
Mom McGillicutty would be proud.

Multidirectional Scarf

This is the most addictive pattern I've knit so far. Short rows. It looks fancier than it is. You only need to know K, K1 front and back, and SSK. Uber easy.

I used this pattern. It was recommended at Butterfly. I used the Cherry Tree Super Sock, size 4 needles and the original cast-on had 36 stitches. It's about 3.5-4 inches wide. Skinny, but I'm only using one skein. I'm afraid it might be too skinny, but time will tell.

PS - My countertop and not my floors. You're welcome.

Monkey Wrench's Favorite Uncle's Socks!!

(This one's for Em: the hammertoe pose.)

I finished Hubby's socks in time to soothe a tired runner's feet after a 20 mile race on Sunday.

(He's awfully modest, but I'm awfully proud. He came in 3rd. Don't tell him I told you.)

(Do you see the cuddly grey in the back? Yeah. That's my couch every weekend. Boys cuddled up and snoozing. It's quite the life!)

Boy! DK weight socks go fast! I moved right into a multi-directional scarf using that Cherry Tree Hill yarn I talked about before. I'm cruising on it. I need to show you my progress on that. I'll try to post later.

Hem and Haw

I've been hemming away. Four pairs total, but I'm only satsified with one pair. (Note to self: Wash pants before you hem! Rookie mistake, idiot!!)
