Stitchy McGillicutty? Bobbin McGillicutty?

I did not knit all weekend. A three day weekend with not a knit or purl seen. This was mostly due to running around, but I will admit that at one point on Sunday I realized I could be knitting, but didn't feel like it. Hm.

I did however reach a great milestone in my craftiness. I hemmed a pair of pants... on my own... without the help of super-sewing-mom... without a call to super-sewing-mom. Yes and I'm wearing them today as proof. To make this accomplishment even more delish: it is a blind hem... on stretchy fabric! I can hear the "ooooh's" and "ahhh's." Death defying? No. But definitely a memorable moment.

For more on blind hems, I found this cool video. I can't figure out how to link to it, but it's here. There is a video link next to "Blind Hem." This is how I figured out which presser foot to use and how to line up the fabric. (This is also how I did not need to call super-sewing-mom in a whiny voice saying "What does the blind hem presser foot look like? Is it the one with the plastic thingy and the screwy thingy?" Oh thank you Internet! And my mom thanks you too!)

No fear. This will not turn into a sewing blog. There's way too much cursing when I sew.

Cursing IS the language of sewing.Along with stress, tension and walking away. However it can also be fun, entertaining and a really good time listening to movies. Haddy's Mom

if you think you can swear at a sewing machine, you should hear me spin! My kids are going to grow up thinking that you have to swear at a wheel to make it go or something :)
