Do you know what day it is??

March 1st!!!

I can buy yarn again!!

Ok... you caught me. I cheated once. Last Friday, the 23rd to be exact. I was preparing for the trip to the great white North and considering what projects to start/bring. Still feeling a bit sick and considering it was Hubby's birthday, I wanted to make him socks. I don't knit for hubby. I made him a hat once. It was one of the first and just a plain old ribbed thing.

So there I was in Butterfly Yarns with a gc for close to $90 and I really wanted to knit Hubby some socks for his birthday. So I bought some yarn, OK?!?! I bought some brown dk weight yarn for his socks... then I saw the Cherry Tree Hill sock yarn. This is true luxury and I've been coveting it forever. It's like $20+ a skein and makes one pair of socks! I wanted to make sure my sock skills were up to par before I ever bought any! With that gc burning a hole in my pocket, I grabbed two skeins of it: Teal Green and Green Mountain Madness.

I cheated. I'm honest.

But... I think that most stash enthusiasts would agree with me that sock yarn does not count AND I was on drugs at the time AND I still have money left on the gc!! I gotta get points for that!

Seriously, who would consider that cheating. And it certainly wasn't an "out of pocket" expense. So I am pretty sure that you can be guilt free for purchasing the sock yarn. It was a gift for cripe's sake!!!! Haddy's Mom
