I've been obsessed with lip balm for as long as I can remember. I remember I once had a chapstick for over a year. The same chapstick. I cherish a favorite, always taking care not to misplace, launder or disrespect.
For a long time DCT was my love.
Then I read somewhere (or someone told me) that petroleum products weren't as moisturizing as we thought. I banished all petro from my life.
I began a love affair with Aveda lip saver...
...but then they changed their formula and I just didn't like it.
On to the next and the next...
Burt's is good standby. I keep him in the arsenal, but it's not as creamy as I'd like...
So, I am constantly seeking the next great lip balm. I'm starting a new category called Kiss This where I hope to hold all my "haddy tested, haddy approved" items.
I'm going through a ROUGH period at the moment. I've made a couple purchases. I'll keep you posted.

I've been using Burt's Bees lately myself. I love the ones with color, so I don't even have to use lipstick ... which comes off anyway. BTW, I became addicted to lip balm ever since I got "wind burn" on my lips when the family drove across the Mojave Dessert when we move to Calif. I was age 16. The skin will peel off my lips if I never use anything. Oh, oh, where's my lip balm ... I need it now that I'm thinking of it.
Burt's Bees is now owned by Clorox so get ready to notice it EVERYWHERE!!! and notice all the new products too. I'm undecided if that is a good thing or not. We're kind of expecting the line to go downhill. I think I'm going to try beeceuticals.com next just in case
L'Occitane. Pricey, but very nice! I have a rose-scented one in my coat pocket.
L'octaine has one that I love it's pricey but its good.

I also used to swear by Aveda lip saver. Now they've totally discontinued it!
I'm a burts bees fan too. I tried their pomegranate lip balm, but I didn't like it very much--it lives in my jacket pocket for emergency purposes. The regular in my standby.
Have you tried Weleda Everon? My new favorite. I've been down the same DCT > Burts Bees route ...
