This time every year my knitter confidence gets a total kick in the behind.
Rhinebeck.
Rhinebeck.
Every October, I say that I'm going to go next year, but come September I lose my mojo. I think about who I might go with, come up with nothing and resolve that it's not really the kind of thing I'd like to go to.
Because really:
- I'm not really that good of a knitter.
- I've never made a latvian mitten.
- I don't spin.
- I don't have a sweater to wear.
- I'm not a good photographer.
- I'm not personally friends with any designers, dyers, authors, high profile bloggers.
- I don't know how to steek.
- I haven't test knit anything for anyone.
- I probably won't jump on the cowl bandwagon.
Then, when everyone returns with ridiculous pictures and stories, it's like having your best friends tell you all about the prom that you didn't go to. ugh.
Oh well, I guess there's next year. I need to start working on a date, I guess.

Not true!
# I've never made a latvian mitten.
So?
# I don't spin.
That can be rectified. Although, in fairness to the spinners, you can buy yarn locally, but there are far fewer places to get spinning supplies, so Rhinebeck is more of a big deal for spinners.
# I don't have a sweater to wear.
Twelve months. Get crackin, girl.
# I'm not a good photographer.
Make friends with your D60!
# I'm not personally friends with any designers, dyers, authors, high profile bloggers.
Neither are most of the 15000 people there.
# I don't know how to steek.
Me neither. Soon, though.
# I haven't test knit anything for anyone.
That's ok.
# I probably won't jump on the cowl bandwagon.
That's ok too.
I'll be your date for rhinebeck next year! I keep saying I'm going to go too and have yet to make it there
