I have not disappeared.

My world is topsy turvy. A few notes:

  • Purling on sock dpns makes my wrists hurt. Lost two days of knitting last week.
  • I've learned to crochet. Currently making a tote bag. Crochet is boring. I am trudging through it. Boring may be a symptom of a project solely of single crochet. I'd probably feel the same way about miles of stockinette in the round. If crochet is to hang around this house we're gonna have to kick it up a notch, soon!
  • Knitting this, in hopes of wearing on vacation.
  • Vacation next week: New Mexico. Visiting Abe's. The best place on the planet.
  • Preparing for vacation. We both need new fishing packs. Hubby needs a new line. Of course we'll need san juan worms, chocolate foam emergers, plenty of leaders and tippet, bullfrog and some serious spf. I also need some comfy pants or leggings to wear under my waders. Something without bulk at the ankles. We'll be lucky if we can afford to eat once we get there.
  • I also need to locate my red Abe's baseball cap that's MIA. It's my fishing hat. My red sox cap has been filling in, and maybe that's a better choice anyway. I don't wanna be that guy.
  • Put in a shade garden over the weekend. Well, Hubby did most all of the work. I just planted annuals in pots around chez McGillicutty.
Maybe this weekend you'll get a post with pics. You haven't seen the progress on my green felted bag either!

You and Huds planted a seed. John cannot stop thinking about taking summers off to be a river guide. Mayhaps on the San Juan. I hope your vacay is sensational. I hope Abe remembers you both, too.

Also, is the point of the fly fishing trip to catch many many trout? Or just to enjoy the quiet meditation of the activity of fly fishing?

Hey have a great vacation! Will you be back in time for our cook-out on the 3rd?

I crocheted before I knitted. I made a few really cute tops, baby blankets, scarves, etc. It can be fun but it is isn't knitting. Knitting is just heaven.

I was eying that Knitty top too! I can't wait to see yours!
