For me, sewing is like riding a bike. First couple yards are wobbly, but then you catch your groove and you're good.
I cut the fabric on Wednesday and did most of the sewing on Saturday. It was delivered on Sunday. Not too bad. I don't know when I started sewing or what my first project was. Maybe my mom knows. I've been sewing independently (somewhat) for 10 years now. My first independently conceived and constructed project was a blanket similar to this. I sew a couple times a year and I can safely say that this is the first project I've completed without once using my grandmother or mother for training wheels. Not even a consultation call. It looks a little wobbly and wrinkly above, but it's not. It's quilted (in the seams), but it doesn't look like it. It could use an iron, but we've been over that...Here's some more of that manly fabric:

I got this pic on my phone last night. I'm not sure what the remotes are there for. Like in most situations, I'm afraid to ask. The blanket is gettin' some love and that's all that matters.

Handsome material, brilliant craftsmanship! You're a wooby wonder. Looks great. He doesn't know how fortunate he is getting an original wooby. Haddy's Mom
Nice quilt! And I guess we know who has control of the programming in his house, huh?
I second your mom. You're a wonder of the woobies.
The remotes are guy-sign for two thumbs up.
